Mantz modified the wings to make almost all of the interior volume into a fuel tank, and all seams were filled. The landing light was removed. I can't see any wing
tip postion lights in the photos I have found. The airplane was able to fly coast to coast non-stop without external tanks. The wings were very fussy to fit
as they are very thin, and they had some warpage. I glued them on pretty much as the instuctions say, bottom first, then the uppers at the root, then working
outward. It took particular care to keep any washin from being glued in at the tips, but it wasn't too hard using Tenax glue.
