The crane in the up position, the model this time. The engine on the hook is by Verlinden, a Maybach from a Tiger II, and just the right weight to keep the rigging under tension. There are working hydraulic cylinders on the crane boom for raising and lowering, and a fair bit of fiddling was needed to get them to have enough travel to work in both positions. I drilled out the cylinders to accept the rods, shortened the cylinders slightly but not so much as to damage the hydraulic line molded on top of them, and shortened the rods slightly. The rods were painted with a Molotow Chrome pen. The large loop links on the dozer were formed from brass wire and soldered in interlocking loops. The machine gun is from the Tamiya kit as are some of the fittings and lights. The working cable length can be changed by moving a clamp that is on the thread inside the "turret", or whatever that is called on top.
