The engine is from a Revell 1/32 Wildcat.  The magnetos were removed as the Special had rear mounted magnetos.  An ignition distributor
ring was added from styrene rod and spark plug wires were added.  A small sump was added to the bottom of the reduction case.  I could have
saved some work by using an engine fronm the Williams Brothers P-35/SEV2 kit but I didn't think of it in time, it is closer to the correct configuration.
I later found a photo that showed that there was a prop governor mounted on top of the reduction gear case, but I was too far along to add it.
