The Box Art. I'm sure I built one of these when they were new. 1962 was the year Francis Gary Powers was returned from the USSR in trade for Rudolf Abel, after nearly two years in prison.
I was a Junior in High School then and remember it well. Later the same year we got to do the Cuban Missile Crisis. A U-2 flown by Major Rudolf Anderson was lost there,
shot down by a Russian SA-2 missile, and Anderson lost his life. Both Powers and Anderson were flying U-2C's, with larger intakes and J-75 engines, compared to the U-2A's J-57.
