The cowl fits tightly over the blanking plate behind the cylinders so the
model can be posed with the cowl off when the propeller is made
removable. To be accurate, engine mounts would have to be added and
the blanking plate would be replaced by "lamb chops", baffles that fit
between the cylinders so air is directed closely around the fins on the
cylinder barrels. Still, it allows the well done exhaust collector and
stainless dishpan to be shown. The depiction of the R-1340 and the
Hamilton Standard 12D40 propeller is pretty good.
