Often the MB5 is considered similar to the Mustang, both having Meredith
effect radiator duct design. Little else in common, though as the
the Mustang was a design well suited to mass production,
while the MB5 was built of steel tubing in the fuselage and aluminum
wings, methods probably heavier and more expensive in production but
suited to prototype design.
