I built these two in the late 80's, they were old kits then. There
were the beginning of two things for me, modifying with a little scratch
building, and starting to build progressive versions of the same type
airplane. It was also my first attempt
at a making a decal. I found a photo of the original flush canopy D
558 II that was good enough to use as a basis for the Skyrocket decal on
the nose, and suffered through making it using an inkjet, I can't
remember where I sourced the decal
paper, maybe I used a section of a kit decal. I still have the
artwork in Corel so maybe I will redo it. I still don't consider
these two finished.
