I found some good photos of L285, a BT-13A based at Minter Field in WW II, near Bakersfield, and currently the site of some warbird activity and a museum about that time and area.
I made it the subject of my model. I was familiar with the BT from a young age as they were frequently seen derelict at duster strips after donating their engines, props,
wheels, and even some canopies to Stearman and N3N dusters. One was even given to me when I was 10 years old or so, but my parents would have no part of a BT in our
backyard so that plot failed rather miserably. What fun the neighbor kid, Bert Ball, and I would have had!
