I plated the inside face of the Hobbycraft inlet part with .005 plastic
card because it would be visible on the finished model. The duct is
starting to be fit to the fuselage. To remove the fiberglass
duct from the mold I cut down the middle of the side that would be on the
outside with a JLC saw, flexed it open and peeled it off the mold, using
water as usual to dissolve the mold release.
The cut was CA'd back together, taking care to match the edges accurately,
though the seam is not readily visible on the finished model. You
can see it in this image as the duct needs to be
turned over before final installation. The big long seams down the
sides of the fuselage were some work to get level and smooth. CA,
Tamiya Thin Cement, and Aves Epoxysculpt were used.
