This
is
a Benny Boxcar fuselage, but the idea is the same. Build up one
side, place a barrier between the two sides and tack together the second
side.
There is a chart on
the plan giving the lengths of all the verticals and crossmembers.
The lengths are for the longest dimension of each part and slight
sanding
of the ends is
needed to match angles. Not all of the forward crossmembers are in
the area below the wing, and one marked 11-12
on the chart is the
short longeron just forward of the tail leading edge. I use the
digital caliper to size the cuts, locking it in place while cutting.
The saw is
from UMM USA.
It is razor blade thin so
there is almost no kerf. Available at http://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/product_info.php?cPath=21_28&products_id=35
Digital calipers are
available from Harbor Freight and are not expensive.
Completed fuselage.
Before joining the sides, taper the aft end of the sideframes to
get the proper width at the tail.
All glue joints have
had Sigment applied over the CA tack gluing.
