This photo makes the fin look offset but it  is just the angle of the photo, it should be straight (and it is on mine, I just checked!)  Also you will see
I remembered wrong and the rudder connections were made with brass ferrules made from K & S brass tubing.  Since then I have gone
through several iterations, finally arriving at one I really like.  Look at the Boxcar 108 Build Log, Page 23 Boxcar 108, for my current method which uses nylon clevises,
wire terminal ends, and adjustable rod ends, which allow precise adjustment and easy disconnects.

Details of the elevator carry through dowel and the bellcrank.

This is the paint scheme shown in the Modelcraft ad in the 1940's.  The pattern for it is shown full size in the plans.  The covering is pearl silver film and the trim is painted on.

I've been flying this model since 2015 and it just keeps going.  It hasn't got a great climb but it is bigger and easier to see than the usual 300 square inch 1/2A model and I have made many maxes with it in
competition, much to my and other's surprise.  I did plans for it for Pharis Models kit in the 80's and it's been stuck to my hip ever since.  It is very similar to the Berkeley Brigadier which it is often mistaken for.
