The
Commando is a relatively simple old timer model to build. It has
uncomplicated shapes such as a square, untapered wing,
and a
simple fuselage
nose
structure, both areas where many old timers can be complex.
It is a gentle flyer with good stall
characteristics
and like most old timer types is very stable. It flies well
with .049 to .10 sized IC engines or with small electric systems.
The
prototype weighs 17.6 ounces without the receiver battery, I use a 4
cell Eneloop pack to bring it up to the SAM legal weight
for
1/2A Texaco competition.
