Initial assembly of the right inner wing
panel.
Setting the dihedral angle using the ply
center shear web. Add the balsa center shear web to insure proper
spar spacing.
Mating the inner wing panels.
Support the wing panels on their leading edges against construction
triangles pinned to the building board and lengthened with tacked on balsa
sticks. Use the center section ply doublers to establish the dihedral angle with the balsa inner
shear web also installed and centered. The upper and lower
spars should both butt an the same time. At this point the
trailing edges, leading edges, and sub spars will all be over lapping.
Find the
place to cut them by lining up a construction square with the main
spar join and mark and cut the overlapping parts a shade long. Sand
them to a good fit, checking while doing so that the wings have not
shifted from their positions.
Another view of checking the cut for the
leading edge.
Installing the balsa center shear
web.The front ply dihedral brace is temporarily in place to help with
alignment.
