The Playboy's Great Adventure. Mike Clancy got caught up in a good thermal in ALOT and didn't realize how strong the upper winds were. His timer (me, John Eaton) was no help as he watched it dwindle to a speck and disappear in the direction of the solar farm in the background. A search was fruitless in the area in front of the solar array, but Beth Taber and Van Wilson were persistent in their efforts, and were rewarded finally when a worker from the array brought them the airplane, which had landed pretty much undamaged somewhere inside the solar array. The happy couple were reunited, and Mike went on to win the ALOT event. Brian Chan on the right, pleased that no trees were involved.
